SHEPARD FAIREY

Shepard Fairey (American, b.1970) is a contemporary artist, graphic designer, and illustrator who emerged from the skateboarding scene. He is well-known for his work on the images of Andre de Giant and the word obey. In 2008 was involved in Hope, an iconic portrait of the American president Barack Obama produced during the American presidential campaigns. Also author of the redesign of the Mozilla mascot of the homonymous web browser (Mozilla Application Suite), Fairey also appears in the Banksy documentary on urban art Exit Through the Gift Shop.

E’ meglio conosiuto per l’immagine di Andre the Giant e la parola obey. Nel 2008 fu coinvolto in Hope, un ritratto iconico del presidente Americano Barack obama, prodotto durante la campagna presidenziale Americana. Autore anche della riprogettazione della mascotte Mozilla dell'omonimo navigatore web (Mozilla Application Suite), Fairey appare inoltre nel documentario di Banksy sull'arte urbana Exit Through the Gift Shop.
